Citations and References

  1. Since 1999 the Social Pedagogy Journal has followed the style guidelines of the APA with regard to citations, references, and literature. The literature should be listed in alphabetical order according to the authors’ or editors’ surnames (or, if the publications lack data about their authors or editors, their titles). You are kindly requested to cite from original sources. By way of exception, you can use indirect citations in the event that the original source is not available. If you are to use a citation from Dekleva's book from 2009 made by Razpotnik in 2003, you should do this as follows: Razpotnik (2003, v Dekleva, 2009). Please follow the citation guidelines from the APA standard.
  2. When including references in the text, you should use one of the two options. If it is a word for word quotation (citation), such text should be introduced by quotation marks (example: “This is a word for word quotation.”) followed by the author’s surname, the year of issue of the cited text, and the page of the citation, for example (Miller, 1992.).
  3. We discourage authors from using footnotes.
